At the door

Chapter 14 of 21EnglishNederlands

Scanner accounts

Settings → Operations → Scanners. Create a login per device or per gate. You limit each scanner to:

  • certain accreditation types: the artist gate does not let in general guests;
  • certain days or sessions.

Staff log in on their phone at your ShowIQ address and stay logged in, so no logging in again every morning.

Scanning

The scanner uses the phone's camera and accepts the QR code as well as the barcode. After a scan it immediately shows: name, type, colour, whether the pass is valid today, and your check-in note.

Points to know:

  • Someone with several days has one code per day, so a Friday pass will not open the gate on Saturday.
  • A guest parking pass is only valid on its own day. An artist parking pass works on every day that artist is present.
  • Scanning twice is recognised: the second time it clearly shows the person was already checked in.
  • Two devices scanning at the same time cannot get in each other's way.

Accreditation desk

For the desk where passes are handed out there is a separate screen: the complete list of everyone expected, searchable by name. Someone without a phone or with a broken code? Look them up and check them in by hand. Artists, band members, guests, media and parking are all in the same overview.

Zones

Do you have areas inside the terrain with their own access rules? Create zones with the types allowed in each, and give staff a zone checker login. They scan and see plainly: access allowed, or not.
